Goodwood 2006 - Client Renault

With a display of cars spanning the 100 years between its first and most recent Grand Prix victories, Renault celebrated its motor racing heritage in spectacular fashion with this central feature at the 2006 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The structure comprised a 120m perimeter 400mm diameter steel tubing from which the fabric membrane was connected and tensioned via cuff brackets and stainless steel rigging screws.
Fabrication of the 1200 sq m membrane which weighed in at approx. 1.2 tonnes was completed in just over 2 weeks. Installation and removal of the temporary structure were both carried out by Intension.
Goodwood 2004 - Client Rolls Royce

The 2004 central display feature commemorated the centenary of the Rolls-Royce Company with a collection of machines associated with various land, water and air speed record attempts using Rolls-Royce engines.
Three steel towers of between 23-30 metres in height were covered with the Ferrari material chosen for its strength, stiffness, finish and lack of translucency. The fabric cladding was manufactured over a 4 week period and installation of the fabric took 2 days per tower.
Intension also designed a flexible elastic tensioning system to meet the requirement of no visible fabric attachment showing on the front, side and rear surfaces.
